Holiday Homes in Peel
Almost everything we list in Peel is self-catering, and most of it is a whole house. That fits the town: Peel is small, built in red sandstone around a working harbour, and the places to stay are ordinary houses in ordinary streets rather than a strip of hotels.
Staying here puts Peel Castle, the beach and the House of Manannan within a short walk, and the smell of oak smoke from the kipper curers somewhere in the background. Peel faces west, which makes it the town on the island where the sunsets actually happen over the sea.
You will want a car or the bus for the rest of the island — Peel is on the opposite coast from Douglas and the ferry — but the town itself is walkable end to end.
In the town
Most properties are in the streets between the harbour and the beach, or in the lanes climbing the hill behind. Check the address on the listing — a few sit further out in the surrounding countryside.
Castle, beach and coast path
Peel Castle occupies St Patrick's Isle at the harbour mouth, reached by a causeway. The main beach runs north from below it, and the Raad ny Foillan coastal path leaves the town in both directions.
Who they suit
Couples, families and walkers who want somewhere with more character than a promenade and are happy to drive to the rest of the island.
