About this property
Primrose Lodge is a detached single-storey holiday home on the edge of Peel, one of a small group of lodges set on open grass with the west-coast hills filling the horizon.
A concrete path runs from the lane past a bank of shrubs to the front door, and the grass comes right up to the walls. No shared entrance, no neighbour above or below: the lodge stands alone, pale stone under a slate-grey roof.
One bright room for the daytime
The living end is uncluttered: two navy sofas with mustard cushions facing a low table, a television on the wall, glazed doors onto the decking. The kitchen takes the other end of the same room, white units under a wood-effect worktop with a cooker, microwave and dishwasher, and a dining table between the two so nobody is left cooking alone.
Two bedrooms, four beds made up
It sleeps four across two bedrooms. The main room takes an extra-large double in a white-painted frame, with a rug on the floor and shuttered windows onto the fields. The second is a twin, a wardrobe and mirror between the beds. The bathroom is white and simple, a walk-in shower behind glass and a heated towel rail.
The deck and the grass around it
Outside the doors is a timber deck with a round picnic table and bench seating, angled so you look across the fields to the ridge beyond. Around it is garden, open and unfenced, with gravel borders.
Peel, the coast and the hills
The lodge sits at the edge of Peel, the fishing town on the west coast, so the harbour, the castle and Fenella Beach are all close by, though you will want the car. This is the side of the island that gets the sunsets.
Who gets the most from it
Two couples, or a family of four with children old enough for a twin room. One floor throughout helps if steps are awkward, and the open ground means small children stay in sight.
