About Raad ny Foillan (Isle of Man Coastal Path)
A 164-kilometre waymarked path that circles the entire Manx coastline, starting and finishing at the lifting bridge over Douglas harbour. Because it's a closed loop it can be walked in either direction, and most people break it into shorter day sections rather than attempting it in one go — it passes through or near almost every coastal attraction on the island, from Peel Castle to the Point of Ayre to the Chasms. The name translates as 'the road of the gull', and the terrain shifts constantly between cliff-top path, beach and quiet lane as it works its way round.
