About House of Manannan

Named for the sea-god said to guard the island in mist, the House of Manannan tells the story of the Isle of Man from its Celtic roundhouses through Viking longships to Peel's own fishing and shipbuilding past. Its centrepiece is Odin's Raven, a two-thirds scale replica Viking longboat that was sailed from Norway to Peel in 1979 to mark the millennium of Tynwald. A recreated Victorian street in Peel and the maritime galleries fill out the rest of the museum, which sits at the foot of Peel Castle across the harbour.
