About Sulby Reservoir
The island's largest area of open water, formed by a dam at the head of Sulby Glen and completed in 1982 to supply the northern half of the island. It sits below Snaefell, roughly a mile and a half from the summit, at the meeting point of three parishes. The reservoir is ringed by hills rather than by development, and the surrounding glen is a starting point for walks up onto the higher ground of the island's northern uplands.
