About Milner's Tower, Bradda Head
A distinctive key-shaped tower on Bradda Head, built in 1871 as a memorial to William Milner, a locksmith and safe-maker who was a local benefactor — the tower's shape is a nod to his trade. It's reached on foot only, via a path up from Bradda Glen or Port Erin promenade, and the climb is rewarded with a wide view over Port Erin Bay and, on a clear day, out toward the Mourne Mountains in Northern Ireland. The tower appears on Port Erin's own coat of arms, a measure of how closely it's tied to the village's identity.
