About Port Erin
A sheltered, sandy bay on the island's south-west coast, framed by Bradda Head to the north and Bradda Hill's smaller companion, Kione ny Ghoggan, to the south. Port Erin was the southern terminus of the old steam railway network to Douglas and grew as a Victorian seaside resort on the back of it; the beach, promenade and headland walks are still its main draw. Milner's Tower, on the headland above the bay, and the ferry crossing point for the Calf of Man both sit within easy walking distance.
