About Manx Museum
The Manx Museum in Douglas is the main repository of the island's history, covering everything from the Stone Age settlers who first reached the island to the TT races and 20th-century internment camps, across a run of galleries built into the hillside above the town. It shares its site with the Manx National Art Gallery and the National Library and Archives, and it also serves as the headquarters of Manx National Heritage, which runs most of the island's other historic sites. It's the natural first stop for putting everything else on the island — the castles, the crofts, the railways — into context.
