About The Sound
The southernmost point of the Isle of Man, looking directly across the tidal Calf Sound to the Calf of Man and the smaller islet of Kitterland between them. The tide races through the narrow gap with real force, and the rocks below are a reliable spot for watching grey seals hauled out or bobbing in the current. A visitor centre run by Manx National Heritage sits above the water with views over the strait, and the coastal path here links onward to Cregneash and the Chasms — this stretch of coast is usually walked as one continuous outing rather than three separate stops.
