About Port St Mary
A working harbour village on the south coast, a short distance from Port Erin and Cregneash, with a dual harbour system dating to the 19th century: an inner harbour that dries out at low tide and an outer one, built around Alfred Pier in 1882, that stays usable at any state of the tide — unusual among Manx harbours. The village still has an active fishing fleet and a lifeboat station dating to 1896, and its Victorian promenade and terraces give it a quieter, less built-up feel than Port Erin just along the coast.
